From the desk of the Chairman:
It appears that Illinois, Indiana and Texas are poised to sell their state lotteries to private enterprises, as soon as in the second quarter, of this year.
Once in private hands, our patent applications will secure our position in the new and old lottery markets. It would not be unlikely that in the states that sell their lotteries, Starbucks or new café chains, would be eventual participant, using our lottery terminals, computers, and TVs to receive, via one-way satellite transmission, the game results. The cash-only handling would be managed by the privatized lottery systems, the same at they now manage the sale of lottery tickets. Accepting deposits and paying winnings with added revenue from advertising.
The Cafés are in practice in the Philippines since 2004, with virtual, make-believe games and sports betting and has expanded from 6 Internet cafés to 60 cafés in the Manila area and an additional 260 throughout the country in 2006; generating huge income from net win and advertising revenue, both for the private operators and the Philippines Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
